REDOING AEON's FACE

Today I decided to rework Aeon's Face Topology, because previously it was half automatic and half manual retopology which will create lots of problems in the long run. God forbid to create some advanced face rig with shape keyed emotions, I will end up having to re-do everything from scratch. So it's better to do Aeon's proper face rig at the early stages.

The problem is that his face is quite unusual, not only he will have sausage lips later, but on top of that he doesn't have any nose or ears, so regular human heads can only serve as a partial reference, but all the stylized topology I found online as a reference was super amateur, so I will still follow human face guidelines. This one below looks good enough:

This one is convenient because it's on Sketchfab and I can rotate it and zoom in, better than 100 screenshots.
Another Challenge is to figure out the right amoun of polygons, because Aeon's face expressions should be extreme, and extreme means big stretching of polygons. Here are some images below from Aeon's Paradise Webcomic (You can actually read it online, 5 episodes are already out!)


Later I will post finished Aeon's head topology and maybe will show off his new emotions.
